I was not being the best dog dad.
That is a hard thing to admit, but it is the honest starting point for everything TreatWalk has become. A few years ago, I was deep in a corporate career — long hours, full calendar, the kind of schedule that makes everything outside of work feel like a logistical problem to solve. My dog was fed, healthy, and loved. But he was not being walked the way he deserved. Days would pass. I would tell myself I would make it up on the weekend. Sometimes I did. Often I did not.
The guilt was quiet but constant. I knew what my dog needed. I just could not seem to make it happen consistently.
The Realization
What I needed, I eventually realized, was not more willpower. I had plenty of motivation on day one of any new habit. What I lacked was a system — something that made the invisible visible, that turned a vague intention into a trackable commitment. Something that showed me, in plain terms, whether I was showing up for my dog or not.
I looked for an app that did this specifically for dog walking. Something with GPS tracking, streak accountability, and a community of people who understood what it meant to be a busy dog parent trying to do better. I could not find exactly what I was looking for.
So I built it.
What TreatWalk Is — and What It's Becoming
TreatWalk started as a personal accountability tool. It has grown into something I could not have fully anticipated: a community of dog parents across the world who are using daily walks to build healthier lives for themselves and their dogs.
We are based in San Antonio, Texas, and we are a small team with an outsized belief in what we are building. We have users in New Zealand maintaining 365-day streaks. We have dog parents in San Antonio who have walked more than 200 consecutive days. We have reviews from people who call TreatWalk "basically Strava for dogs" — a comparison that genuinely makes us proud.
But we are not done. The vision for TreatWalk has always been bigger than GPS tracking and streak counters. We want to inspire connection — on social media and in real life. We want dog parents to discover new trails together, join community events, and find their people through the simple, powerful act of walking their dogs.
That future is being built right now.

Your dog deserves daily walks. So do you.
